When laser cutting machine cuts different materials and different thicknesses of plates, in order to achieve better cutting results, the focus of the laser beam will be set in different places, that is, focusing. So, how can we make the laser cutting machine focus to achieve a good cutting effect?

When assembling a laser cutter, the focus of the laser needs to be adjusted multiple times, usually by placing an object that is being debugged or cut under the laser head and adjusting the height position of the laser head. Laser cutting machine; the laser head observes the size of the spot at laser points of different heights; therefore, the height of the laser head can be adjusted first in a larger height area, then the area with a smaller spot is found, and then the laser is fine-tuned in the area. The height position of the head, which we will use to determine the optimal position of the focal length and the position of the laser head as the best position for the smallest spot.

At the same time, the position of the laser beam passing through the exit of the cutting nozzle also affects the processing quality of the laser. The optimal position of the central axis of the laser beam should be at the center of the exit of the cutting nozzle.

With the rise of laser cutting technology, the main way to focus is on manual completion. With the rapid development of laser technology, the manual focusing method was gradually eliminated, and the auto focus function was gradually realized. The light path is then integrated into the cutting head. Is it possible to achieve the focusing function by changing the height of the cutting head? The cutting head is raised, the focus position is high, the cutting head is lowered, and the focus position is low.

Laser cutting machine manufacturers recommend the following two methods:

During the cutting process, the nozzle height is about 0.5 to 1.5 mm, which is regarded as a fixed value, that is, the nozzle height is constant, so the focus cannot be adjusted by lifting the cutting head. The focal length of the focusing mirror is immutable, so it cannot be expected to focus by changing the focal length. If the position of the focusing mirror is changed, the focus position can be changed: when the focusing mirror is lowered, the focus is lowered, and the focusing mirror is raised, and the focus is raised. - This is indeed a way of focusing. Automatic focusing can be achieved by using a motor-driven focusing mirror for up and down motion.

Another method of autofocusing is to set a tunable mirror before the beam enters the focusing mirror, and change the divergence angle of the reflected beam by changing the curvature of the mirror to change the focus position.

With the auto focus function, the machine can automatically adjust the focus to the proper position when machining workpieces of different materials and thicknesses. This can significantly improve the processing efficiency of laser cutting, and the slab perforation time will be greatly reduced.
